Booking and approval
Dog / Cat · Separate cargo service
From 1 September 2025, direct pet-shipment bookings with Cathay Cargo are accepted only from an IPATA/ATA member, an IATA-accredited freight forwarder or a holder of a valid IATA Live Animals Regulations training certificate. Arrange an eligible booking party.
Cathay Cargo live-animal arrangements. Cargo is a separate service, not ordinary accompanied checked baggage. Assistance dogs follow a separate passenger policy.
Certain snub-nosed breeds are conditionally accepted January–May and October–December on Hong Kong to London Heathrow, Melbourne or Singapore routes. An IPATA-certified BOAS pet shipper must handle the move. The page says London Heathrow to Hong Kong is temporarily unavailable for these breeds; do not assume the reverse route is covered.
