Dog / Cat · In the cabin / Accompanied hold baggage / Separate cargo service
Use AVS Schedule I, II or III for the export country. The classification can change. Schedule II includes Hong Kong, Japan, Canada, the US, France, Germany and Spain except Ceuta and Melilla; other veterinary and residence conditions still apply.
AVS personal dog and cat imports. Export category alone does not determine quarantine: owner arrival and shared residence matter for Schedule II. Complete veterinary conditions still apply.
Dog / Cat · In the cabin / Accompanied hold baggage / Separate cargo service
Obtain a dog or cat licence before applying for the import licence. The import licence must be obtained before arrival and is valid for 90 days from issue. It does not replace the veterinary certificate or the rest of the import conditions.

Dog / Cat · In the cabin / Accompanied hold baggage / Separate cargo service
For Schedule II personal imports, no post-arrival quarantine is required only when the pet arrives less than five days from the owner’s entry and has continuously shared the owner’s residential address for more than six months before import. Otherwise a minimum ten-day home quarantine applies, subject to AVS approval and conditions.
Schedule II personal imports only. The dates and shared residence must be evidenced; choosing a departure country does not confirm exemption.
Dog / Cat · In the cabin / Accompanied hold baggage / Separate cargo service
For Schedule III arrivals, AVS requires at least 30 days of quarantine at the Animal Quarantine Centre and rabies vaccination on arrival. Reserve a quarantine space after the serology result is ready and submit the required vaccination records.
