Serbia Pet Import Requirements

US non-commercial certificate, rabies and identification; route titration needs confirmation.

Documents and permits

Dog / Cat · In the cabin / Accompanied hold baggage / Separate cargo service

Use the certificate for five or fewer pets with the declaration that the animals are accompanied by the owner or person responsible on the owner’s behalf and are not for sale or transfer. More than five uses a separate certificate; its twenty-four-hour examination does not replace this model’s ten-day pathway.

Only adult non-commercial dogs/cats from the United States, at most five total, accompanied by their owner or responsible authorised person, with no sale/transfer. Route-specific titration requirements must be confirmed separately; this checklist does not establish a US exemption.

Pet identification

Dog / Cat · In the cabin / Accompanied hold baggage / Separate cargo service

Record a microchip number or clearly readable tattoo applied before 3 July 2011, with the application date and vaccination details. Attach certified identification/vaccination records. Confirm any additional identification sequence or device standards with the certifying veterinarian; do not infer them solely from the form’s identification field.

Vaccination records

Dog / Cat · In the cabin / Accompanied hold baggage / Separate cargo service

Keep rabies vaccination valid and allow at least twenty-one days after completion of a primary course. Subsequent boosters must fall within the preceding validity period; after expiry a booster counts as primary.

Rules depend on the route, animal and operating carrier. Confirm your own journey with the relevant authority and airline.

Applicable conditions

The currently linked US model has a listed-origin exemption and a non-listed origin/transit test branch: sample at least thirty days after vaccination, at least three months’ wait, approved laboratory and titer at least 0.5 IU/ml. It cites older country lists; a current Serbian listing establishing the actual US itinerary exemption was not obtained. Confirm the branch rather than treating titration as automatically required or waived.

Parasite treatment

Dog · In the cabin / Accompanied hold baggage / Separate cargo service

APHIS and the certificate note explicitly make tapeworm treatment optional for US-origin pets. For dogs, choose the treated or untreated branch; if treated, record product, time and veterinarian. Do not turn the optional treatment into a universal entry requirement.
