For the vaccinated adult pathway, rabies vaccination is given from at least twelve weeks of age and remains valid; allow at least twenty-one days after completion of the primary course. A booster after expiry counts as primary. A timely booster keeps continuous validity; a young-animal declaration alone does not establish entry permission.

APHIS exempts current-rabies US pets travelling directly or only through the attached Annex II listed countries or the EU from titration. Non-listed transit requires the separate secure-transit/no-contact declaration or test branch. In the latter, the model measures the three-month wait to issue in the body and to import in the note; confirm that alternative with the veterinarian and authority.

The national dog/cat/ferret section recommends but does not require clinical examination/treatment for echinococcosis and ticks, recorded in the passport or certificate if performed. Do not turn it into a mandatory 24–120-hour treatment; the separate twenty-four-hour examination for other species does not apply to this dog/cat section.

Have a USDA-accredited veterinarian complete the linked certificate and obtain APHIS endorsement. The model is valid ten days from official issue to entry documentary/identity checks; its onward four-month paragraph is not a four-month entry window. APHIS also requires issue and endorsement within ten days of travel. Digital endorsement is accepted; carry the printed endorsed certificate, signed declaration and required certified attachments.
